Just reported on MLB Network. 7/$175MM for this guy.
Keeps the window for the Nats open for a few more years.

A lot of dough for a guy with past injury problems. Also makes an already boring FA class even worse.

I don't see how he's worth that kind of money but Starting Pitchers are one of the most overpaid positions in all of sports.

I think the Nats got a nice discount on him. He was going to get more than that on the open market. Quite a bit more.

He probably would have eclipsed what Price got, but in the end, i think he'll be able to live modestly with this.

If his next couple years go well, fully expect him to opt-out (he's got them in like his third and fourth years).

I think its a reasonable deal for both sides, he has an injury history and if he outperforms he can opt out. Like cheato said, the surprising part is he didnt hit FA being represented by Boras.

There is hope for Harvey! Nah hes gone lol

Great contract for Strasburg, he is a 25 mil a year pitcher when healthy.

Now though no impact arms are hitting the market, which means the trade deadline is going to be fun and insane.

Nationals couldn't afford to lose him, and they got him for cheaper than the open market would have paid him

Very risky deal for the Nats, great for Strasburg to get the money in a place feels comfortable. I mean what's an extra $25 million to a person who already has $175mil?
