Random Question: Mudiay or Russell

Pro-Mudiay: athletic, aggressive, defense.
Anti-Mudiay: TURNOVERS, No range

Pro-Russell: Proven jump shooter, better court vision, less turnovers
Anti-Russell: Not aggressive, defense.

Who would you guys pick??

So far, I think I'd still go with Russell just because I see Byron Scott as a terrible coach who would rather play Lou Williams. He lacks the aggressiveness because he's playing in a terrible system and playing with Kobe.

Mudiay has all the freedom with Denver. His turnovers are too high that it looks like his numbers are more like MCW's. And I don't see him ever reducing those turnovers. (just like MCW).

Things can change though, I might choose Mudiay if I don't see any improvement from Russell.
Have at it

DLoading. I love Mudiay, but anyone who thinks he's better than D'Angelo is just grossly overreacting.

I'm not saying better now but I do think Mudiay could develop into a Westbrook-style PG which is something I'd never say about MCW. And I'm not sold on Russell although with their guard depth I'd like to see them develop him the way they developed Clarkson last year, and we're not truly going to know how good he is until Kobe is no longer on the team or at least no longer taking all the shots

CF, any chance you're a Ohio State fan

Honestly not even a huge OSU basketball fan. I'm a fan of his game for sure. He is the definition of a game changer and I think that having Byron Scott (not only one of the worst coaches in the league, but also a terrible coach with regards to handling point guards, see: Kyrie Irving's development prior to Blatt taking over) is a huge detriment to his game and his development.

Byron Scott brought Jordan Clarkson along beautifully and Julius Randle hasn't seemed to have any issues. And lol if you're crediting all of Kyrie's development to 1 year of assistant head coach Blatt and none to Scott. Maybe it's actually just that Russell doesn't consistently try on defense, and fwiw what you're saying is EXACTLY what I heard from UM fans about Trey Burke when he first got to the pros. Not comparing the two players (it's obvious Russell is much better) but just saying there's a difference between being dominant in college and being dominant in the pros and Russell has to figure out the latter before he can be described as close to a game changer

You do realize that Byron Scott is one of the worst developers in the league at the point guard position? That was the emphasis on my post. Randle is a forward so I'm not sure why you brought him up at all. Kyrie came into the league and Byron instilled shitty offensive tendencies, shitty defensive tendencies (that he is literally JUST NOW getting out of), and did not know how to manage minutes at all. You can literally google stories about how he mismanaged Kyrie's minutes too his rookie year. He is not a point guards coach whatsoever. Clarkson looks so great because he was a 2nd round steal. Obviously a coach can't turn a star into a shitty player, but his philosophy and how he handles young PGs hinders their development. It's on the coach to teach young players and manage how the game goes, and he cannot do either properly at the 1 position.
