I think Monty sucks and I'm not saying he shouldn't have been fired, but he did bring an injury riddled team to the playoffs in the tough Western conference and he only had 1 year left on his deal. Why not just play through next season and see where it went? If they didn't improve, just let him walk.
I can't say I watched many Pels games, but he had to have improved that team a bit after their sluggish start no?

I'm going to laugh if the Pels hire Mike D'Antoni

He wouldn't be at the top of my list, but I oddly would not be upset if he were the guy.

The team realized they needed to go in a different direction and didn't see the reasoning to drag it out. It is unlikely anything Monty did next season was going to be any different than what he has done the last five years. He had reached his potential in a way, I guess.

If you already think he sucks why would you wait another year and waste a year of Anthony Davis?

Kenny Atkinson and Fred Hoiberg would be my top two candidates. Sean Miller and Eddore Messina in there as well. Only guy id be really upset with would be Mark Jackson.

What did Mark Jackson do so wrong that you'd be upset with? He changed a team's culture and turned them into 50+ winners. There's nothing to hate there unless you don't want a coach who wants to have a little more control than usual.

He's the same coach as Monty, just a little better.

Working on a 1 year extension for 8 million with Kentucky, on the day Monty is let go. Maybe that is a coincidence. Maybe it isn't.

I love Hoiberg, Atkinson, and Messina. Id put money on Messina right now.

Draymond was really, really raw coming out. He's a 3rd year player. There's no guarantee he'd have been so good last year. Lee was also a double double machine for a long time. I don't agree with what he did, either, but his rotations were never puzzling and he didn't go 10-11 deep as constantly as Monty did. Mark is significantly better, imo. I give Monty credit for establishing a culture, but the Pels better hire someone who can maintain it.

Draymond was raw coming out? Are you serious?
