When you get down to a guy like Wade Davis then you know there's too many rounds.

Davis one of the most reliable closers in the game. Closed out 29 or 30 consecutive games for the Cubbies this season.  Without him, I'm not sure the Cubs make into the NLCS.  Their bullpen was awful and Wade was leaned upon for 6 outs, much like Chapman the year prior.

He's been great, but I look at careers and he hasn't been as great his whole career in relief as some of these other guys.

You are right except for Wade getting more than 3 outs.  He was asked three times, one in a blow out, once he blew.

Now if you mean just the playoffs, different story.

But I agree, Davis is a top 5 closer right now.

Are you accidentally looking at his numbers as a starter? Hes been pretty solid since becoming a reliever and won a championship as the closer with the Royals

Davis takes this. I'm posting a poll to see how many deep people want to go. Go check that out.
