The Falcons already were in trouble. Everybody else in the division got better, and one of those teams got the best coach in the division back.

You say that as if the Falcons are the same team or even worse than they were last year, which is not the case at all. The Falcons improved a glaring issue at running back by replacing Turner with SJax. Dunta Robinson is gone thank god, and hopefully the rookie corners that will take his place know how to wrap up and actually tackle. Sure, OLine represents some issues, but there has been a lot of praise about our DLine in recent days from joint practices with the Bengals, with a lot of guys stepping up and Nolan's hybrid schemes.

Another thing, I find it funny how much praise Payton gets despite allowing the whole bounty program to take place in the first place. He isn't all he's hyped up to be, or else the Saints would have won a Super Bowl every year he's been coach.

I'll take the Falcons over everyone in that division, with or without their RT.

That's a retarded statement

SJax? Congratulations, you've got the 4th best RB in the division when you factor in his constant health issues (and the fact that he's past his prime). And I doubt Rogers can hold up with a higher workload. Dunta Robinson being gone is a good thing, eh? Well, so is Brent Grimes. He may have a recent injury history, but there's no denying what he was when he was on the field.

The Bucs are primed to beat the Falcons, and I think they will.

The Falcons most certainly aren't better than last year's squad. Gonzo and White are a year older. Mike Smith is one bad season away from being the 3rd best coach in this division and soon dropped out of the "best coach in the league" discussion. The praise that man gets is absurd.

While I don't think the Saints will be what people expect them to be just because of Sean Payton, I have no doubt that they'll be more consistent than last year, and Rob Ryan will improve that defense.

No, it really isnt. With the way some people (mainly Saints fans) overrate him, you would think he was the greatest coach our generation has lived to see. Sean Payton doesnt play defensive end or corner, so having him back isn't gonna automatically change the fact that they still have the worst defense in the league. Yes, it's an improvement, but no he's not the second coming of Jesus that's gonna rally all the troops back to the Super Bowl this year.

How is that exactly? 10+ wins in 4 of 5 seasons. Completely transformed the team from 4-12 to a consistent playoff contender. Sorry he doesn't walk on water like Saints fans swear Sean Payton does. But yea, keep waiting for that "one bad season". You could pretty much say that about any coach in the league who's not named Bill Belichick.

The Bucs are not primed to really beat anybody as long as Josh Freeman is still taking snaps. And SJax is not the 4th best RB in the division. How do you think he'll perform on a team with as many offensive weapons as the Falcons have when he's been successful as the only true weapon on a team that has never won more than 8 games with him in the backfield?

I wasn't including Mark ingram. I was thinking Muscle Hamster, JStew, and Dwill > SJax.

SJax isn't going to stay healthy so it's not going to matter. And Josh Freeman may not be great, but he's good enough to win with better pieces around him, I think.

Matt Ryan doesn't have the defense Josh Freeman has, or the RB.

If you say SJax will get hurt, suppose Muscle Hamster does...
You're argument is basically applying one bad scenario to one team just to say "team A will be better if this or that happens to team B." The Falcons defense has been a glaring issue for years, but we still managed to only lose 3 games excluding the playoffs. I'll reserve judgment on our DLine and rookie corners until preseason games go into full effect, so we'll see

Yeah, because not having an all star RB has REALLY hurt Tom Brady the past 5 years

We're talking about Tom Brady, the second best QB in the game, not Matt Ryan, a fringe top 7 QB.

And IIRC Matt Ryan is #2 in wins over the past 4 years

And 1 playoff win (that he was lucky to get). Now, playoff wins aren't everything, but prior to last postseason's run, they'd been blown out by more than 20 points in two straight post season games when Matt Ryan completely shit the bed. The Falcons are a regular season team who made some progress last year, but who knows if they can continue? The Seahawks got better. The 49ers got worse, and Kaep is going to struggle this year, but who do you really trust come playoff time? Jim Harbaugh's hard nosed team or the finesse Falcons? The entire NFC North is up for grabs--3 out of those 4 teams could beat Atlanta in a playoff game (Detroit couldn't). 3 out of 4 teams in the NFC East could beat Atlanta in a playoff game (Philly couldn't). There are too many teams vying for 6 spots with such a questionable Atlanta team for us to automatically assume they'll be crowned NFC South champs, or even make the playoffs. With how competitive the division could be this year, they could lose 3-4 games in the division itself.

Nobody is overrating him to the point that he's so good that we should win the title every year he's coach. Like I said, that's a retarded statement. And no, we don't have the worst defense in the league.
