they wanted D'Antoni. found out Phil was interested. gave Phil an interview, but went with the guy they wanted from the get go

all 3 brass members of the Lakers FO agreed it was D'Antoni.

Just like I said, now their trying to sell to people that D'Antoni was their guy because Phil wanted too much.
