should have got more time? stallworth did 28 days for killing a man. now you tell me how that makes sense. at least vick did his time and is trying to make up for what he did. Hes trying to save dogs now. if you watched the press confrence i believe what he said. he was young and not thinking about it and didnt realize the risk and consequences for him and his family and the problems to go through.

Just saw the Vick interview on 60 minutes....and you guys were right, he does seem to have his head sown on way better then it was pre-jail sentence. I actually gained a little respect from him in the interview. Although I'm always gonna hate what he did, but I'm all for 2nd chances. Now he needs to go prove on and off the field for the rest of his life he's a different man.

Went to Modells in Philly today...and you wouldn't believe how many Vick jerseys are already back on the shelf. I asked the store's manager how many they have already sold...his response: "Since we got them 2 days ago, you'd be surprised. And I don't mean they're collecting dust."

Pitbulls & an illegal gambling operation didn't drunkenly stumble out in front of Michael Vick's car.

Keep that in mind. Stallworth's situation was looked at as a double-fault. Though the victim died, he was also intoxicated and walking out, into the middle of the road. Stallworth also didn't attempt to lie and deny any wrong doing in the situation...and the judge was convinced that this was a guy who made a bad choice & was remorseful about it.

I look at the Stallworth situation as bad luck, as crazy as it sounds. A lot of people get behind the wheel legally intoxicated. The way the laws are now, it doesn't take a whole hell of a lot to be "over the legal limit" and as the story indicated, Stallworth was legally drunk but not inebriated. That accident would of happened even if Stallworth as sober. Somebody walks out in front of your car and you don't have enough time to stop.

I am not trying to make one crime any better than the other...but Michael Vick's situation isn't one that can just happen to anybody. Vick's was a prolonged crime, more laws broken, millions of untaxed dollars...and he tried to lie his way out of it. Let us not forget the failed drug test after he was arraigned...which doesn't necessarily give a judge any sympathy.

He could of gotten more than 26 days or so in jail but why? is anybody here not convinced that the guy is completely devastated over the incident? Anybody think he will ever get behind the wheel again? His license has been suspended for life! People aren't sent to jail just to suffer. Though hard criminals are locked up and kept away forever, most people are sent to jail in order to rehabilitate themselves and show that they are poised to eliminate themselves as a detriment to society.

I don't think anymore time in jail would make a difference in the way Stallworth is handling himself right now. The guy is locked into the legal system for a long time and is out of work for a year w/o pay. In Vick's case, I believe he needed that time in jail and even he admits that he did. I think this guy was on a huge destructive path, taking everything for granted, acting like a gangster...and all that jail time completely changed his thought process.

You can't just compare Stallworth to Vick...its apples & oranges people.

I still forget I have this damn avy from time to time lol.

I realize he's devastated by what he did, but maybe to me it's the fact he's a star athlete and has kids that do look up to him, then they see he kind of got off easy. I know the judge wouldn't need to make an example out of him but he could have gotten more.

good point. the jail time did help vick clear his head and made him realize what he needs to do.

Oddly, the Eagles gave a second chance to Michael Vick...but not to Dan Leone. Leone was the employee who posted: "Dan is [expletive] devastated about Dawkins signing with Denver ... Dam Eagles R Retarted!!", on his Facebook page.
