Every year Dallas tries to be a big player in free agency and every year they strike out... I wonder why? Personally I would love to play for Cuban and Carlisle is a great coach. On top of all that it's a great sports town with a passionate fan base.
Those tax breaks too haha

Dallas has a lot of available cap space. They'll re-up Dirk, sign Pau Gasol after striking out on a few bigger targets, and then probably put a few more shooters around those guys.

Calderon / Ellis / shooter / Dirk / Gasol

As a result they'll be a little tougher out for the next two seasons.

Is Gasol as big a lock as you think it is?

I'm not saying it isn't, just curious

I don't think it's a lock, just seems like a very Dallas like move to me lol

I mean it's all hypothetical of course, but you said it yourself, Dallas strikes out for bigger names every offseason then "settles" for lesser players.

Yeah. I'm just not sure if I can see Pau in Dallas. If he does then you definitely called it. But they'd be really weak up front from a rim protection standpoint.
