Matt Holliday likely done for the season?

Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch writes that the Cardinals believe it is "possible, perhaps probable" that Matt Holliday (finger) will not return this season.

Not good news for a team that has been making a late surge for the playoffs.

That's tough news for the Cardinals. Holliday is a big part of that lineup, both in his own production, and protecting Pujols. If they have indeed lost him for the season, it's probably their second-best offensive option gone for the year. Very tough news for St. Louis.
