Mariners acquired 1B Russell Branyan from the Indians for CF Ezequiel Carrera and SS Juan Diaz.

Let the firesale begin. Branyan, 34, has batted .263/.328/.491 this season for the Tribe with 10 home runs and 24 RBI, and is working on a seven-game hitting streak. He should provide the Mariners with some much-needed offense, just as he did when he posted an 867 OPS and 31 home runs last season in Seattle. The Indians are on the hook for his remaining $2 million salary. Jun. 27 - 12:03 am et
It's a little too late Seattle..

The last two times we traded first basemen to the Mariners, we got Choo back, and then we got Asdrubal Cabrera back.. Hopefully one of these two guys pans out.

lol they just won't give up haha. This means LaPorta is gonna back in the bigs I guess. He's done well enough to get called up. Doesn't make that much sense for M's since it's kinda over for them.

LaPorta wasn't getting consistent at bats once Branyan got healthy, so they sent him down to get every day at bats. Being brought up now since he will be a full time starter.
