The reason why the struggle in the preseason without Peyton is because Peyton is the only QB on the Colts roster allowed to call audibles and change plays. Kerry Collins won't be given that permission. They'll be horrible.

Here is my take on this whole situation:

The Colts are purposely throwing their season down the drain. Why you might ask? Because Payton is getting older and not better. They don't have another QB on their team really. So I see the Colts holding out on getting the proper treatment for Payton, probably putting bricks under his pillow, and poking him in the neck during meetings...etc. The Colts have their eyes set on Andrew Luck...or maybe another QB...
