The Machado trade was apparently done days before it was announced. Thinking they held off on signing along the dotted lines because of All-Star Game eligibility. Either way, the trade came at the right time for the Dodgers. Justin Turner is still having groin issues and likely going back to the DL.

The deal was "done", but the Orioles would have taken a better offer had one come up.  They did pretty well, and the Dodgers didn't have to give up their best prospects.
