So do you guys think it's his right to veto the trade if he wants to or do you think it's messed up that he said he wanted to play for a contender and then vetoed a trade to a division winning team?

completely his right, he had the no trade clause in his contract and used it, can be upset he didn't choose you, but cant get mad about him using what's available to him

He has every right to veto the trade. He seems like a huge hypocrite now though.

Well yeah what would be the point in giving up that much for a one year rental. That was a stupid negotiation ploy. If anything why not ask the Indians to add more money into it? I'm sure they'd make the option worth more to get the deal done.

Why would the Indians do that? There's a written contract and that dictates the terms.

Plus is that even allowed under the CBA?

Stearns just said talks with Cleveland are done and they have moved on regarding Lucroy.

This baffles me tbh. You're going to a team with arguably the best rotation in the league, surrounded by good supporting players, a fun clubhouse, not to mention we're the winning team you said you wanted to be a part of. There's no way he not at least a little bit intrigued by the Indians.

Maybe this is all a ploy for a big raise in 2017

"We'll regroup and pick up where we left off." - Stearns. Lucroy presented with choice shortly after game yesterday. Decision this morning.

No deal with Cleveland, per Stearns. "We move on." No way to rework deal.

Is there not a picture of Chief Wahoo with the Jordan crying face yet? Because this seems like it would be the time

Indians would not guarantee Lucroy the starting catching job in 2017 and would not add incentives to his option which killed the deal
