He was good the second half of the season. As long as he keeps that production up, I'm fine with this.

A lot of Lions fans are really mad at the Ebron pick.  I'd like to point out that Ebron is truly a transcendent talent an they will all be buying his jersey.  The real problem, the problem I pointed out in this very thread on March 14th, is that the awful Pettigrew re-signing should have deemed this draft possibility dead.  But it didn't.  And now you have a future All-Pro at 1st string, a 3.8 mil cap hit at 2nd string, and a guy who just caught 7 TDs last season at 3rd string.  This is tight end.

I go to sleep tonight knowing Brandon Pettigrew is an awful use of a roster spot and salary allocation, and maybe without the re-signing, James Ihedigbo could have been T.J. Ward.

I heard we can cut Pettigrew after this season without much of a cap hit. IDK how true that is though.

It's the NFL.  You can throw guys and their families on the street with no notice.  Pettigrew is thick in Lions blood though.

Its $5.2M in dead money if he's cut this year. Its $3M the year later, then $2M, then just $1M
