I thought for sure he was gone but I'm starting to think he will stay. Just don't see why Gilbert would allow Ferry to resign, something is up.

Brian Windhorst (cavs writer, i assume you know by now lol) said this on espn cleveland radio:

Gilbert will have the final say on the new head coach. Possible candidates may not fit with Ferry's philosophy.

Cavaliers have roster flexibilty.

Feel the Cavs will make a big trade before the NBA draft.

Thinks it will probably include a starter or starter caliber player from the Cavs.

Ferry may not have wanted to be involved in pulling the trigger on this, another possible reason for him resigning.

Chris Grant has been acting GM since Wednesday.

Did not give too much info on air, but Cavs are in trade talks that could land them a solid player.

Cavs also in trade talks that would involve them getting back a lottery pick.
Going to be an interesting month.

Nice cover on Slam, man LBJ would look sick in a Knicks uniform. I think Bosh is going to the Heat since Wade is staying.

Wesley Claims LeBron Leaning Strongly Toward Bulls

According to Yahoo! Sports, William Wesley "has been telling everyone that he believes LeBron James is leaning hard toward signing with the Chicago Bulls."

Wesley is a member of James' inner circle.

It's getting kind of hard not to get my hopes up now.

An appreciably well-wired roundball entrepreneur believes LeBron James will re-up with the Cavaliers for three years, a possibility he almost certainly would not entertain had Mike Brown been retained -- something GM Danny Ferry fiercely advocated doing, hence his resignation.

a lot more. really cool link. i just posted the snip, and the read more came up on its own. awesome

anyways, this is what i felt would happen overall. go back to the cavs, but still put pressure on them to make more moves to get a winner

of course, Vescey is usually wrong

If Tom Izzo signs on with the Cavs, I think LeBron will stay, if not I think he's going to Chicago. And I'm not saying it because Izzo will draw LeBron in.. I think Izzo wants to hear conformation from LeBron that he is staying before he signs on, so if he doesn't, it either means LeBron wouldn't tell him, or hes leaving.

im not sure if izzo is leaving. if lebron says hes staying izzo should know that may not be true. he hears it from recruits/players all the time.

izzo should just wait until his core players are gone and then if he wants to jump go to a young team he can develop. cleveland isnt a good choice to go to. with no lebron that team is .500 or slightly better and theyre too old to get into his system.

This is his last chance to get in to the NBA and this is a good situation.. He's 55 years old and our owner will do whatever it takes to win. Gilbert can lose over 100 million dollars in franchise value if LeBron leaves, and he's out there offering 30 million for a college coach.. Not many would do that, he's definitely one of the best owners in sports and I think we'll be fine with or without LeBron.

this isnt his last chance. if he stays he'll be one of the top coaches to take over a team next year, hes come up in so many rumors the last 3 or 4 years.

Lt me rephrase that, it's his last chance to get into a good situation. People can say that it's gonna be horrible if LeBron leaves, but it's not going to.. Only other offers he'll get are from rebuilding teams with a cheap owner and certainly wont get this money offer again. And you would have to think he would get the most job security here, knowing Gilbert and all, both being MSU alums.. If he wants to test the NBA, he pretty much has to take this.

if he wants to jump right in and win then thats where he should go, if he wants to be able to improve on a young team until they become a force(like scott brooks or scott skiles did) then waiting would be better. its easier to get young players to believe in your system, and you have to think the players on cleveland wont always listen and theyll block him out and thats not good and makes him look bad. though i dont think gilbert would ever fire him..

Dwyane Wade doesn't sound like a man planning to leave the Heat.

As July 1 and the beginning of free agency inches closer, Wade says he'll start off searching for the best player to join him in Miami.

"It's going to be fit with me first," said Wade, who attended Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night. "I've made that very clear. Do I want to leave? Nope. Mmm-hmm. I want to be in Miami. That's where it starts."

Wade told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel over the weekend that he talked with Chris Bosh and Joe Johnson in Los Angeles last week.

"I don't look at it as recruiting. I'll gauge and see if guys want to be [in Miami], who wants to be with me," Wade said.

"It's about who can come to Miami, it's about who do you trust, who can fit the organization, who best fits you as a player, things of that nature."

Former Knicks guard Allan Houston will play a role in the team's pursuit of free agents like LeBron James this summer.

"I want them to have the potential to experience what I've experienced and take advantage of this place, the market, the people, the fans, the brand," said Houston, who is New York's assistant to the president of basketball operations. "That's my goal."

Knicks president Donnie Walsh thinks Houston has the chops to run a team one day.

"He's been through it," said Walsh — who also said, "I have a plan to develop Allan as a guy that can be a general manager," but insisted that doesn't mean Houston is the next general manager of the Knicks.

LeBron James has not spoken with Tom Izzo about the job or his future and currently has no plans to do so, according to a source.

James intends to become a free agent on July 1 and does not plan on committing to anything until after he explores his free agent options.

James is not expected to make any sort of promise or guarantee that he'll re-sign with the Cavaliers no matter who the team ends up hiring.

The Knicks have put together a committee of New York's biggest celebrities to help bring free agents to the team this summer.

Of course, LeBron James is the biggest prize.

"New York would be a great thing for LeBron," said Donald Trump, who is joined on the committee by Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Boomer Esiason and Spike Lee.

"He would take over the city," said Trump of James. "I am in many different cities, but I can tell you, LeBron, there is only one New York."

Sources told the New York Post that the stars are expected to meet with free agents and even show them around the city.

"You really want to live in Cleveland? That's what I would tell him. Where do you want to live?" Chris Rock told the Post.

The panel is also expected to include talk-show host Charlie Rose, John McEnroe, Donny "The Big Idea" Deutsch, Whoopi Goldberg, Mark Messier, Phil Simms, Willis Reed, Walt Frazier and Earl "The Pearl" Monroe.

In a radio interview with Jerry Stackhouse and Bill Lekas, William Wesley claimed that he is not involved in LeBron James' decision-making process related to the superstar's upcoming free agency.

"He’s going through the process that was afforded to him. He’s going to touch each base of the process of free agency, I believe," Wesley said. "I haven’t sat down and talked to him. I don’t wanna sit down with him and talk to him about it unless, you know, if he brings something to me or asks a question or something along those lines I’ll address it. But this is his decision for him and his family to make."

When pressed further about James' feelings on free agency, Wesley said, "I just shared with you I haven’t even conversated with him about this process because this is his family and that’s their process. So, you know, I haven’t talked to him about that."
