By defensive you mean the only person who was actually right? Everyone kept post articles, mainly you actually, always posting about his unhappiness, disinterest in playing for the Cavs, the Cavs not willing to offer him the extension in fear he'd decline, potentially forcing his way out (If he had declined the max extension, he would have been traded, that was his out if he really wanted to leave). I guess I'm defensive because I got tired of non-news and old stories being recycled because it fit the "no one likes Cleveland" narrative?

He's a 3rd year pro, he was going to hit RFA the following year. You're paying off potential. No he's not worth 18 million now, you're banking on him being worth it after steady improvement.
You may not have noticed, but I post a lot of topics. Probably more than double than anyone else on this forum. It's sad that I even have to say this, but the majority of those articles do not represent my personal beliefs or opinions. I just post what I find, I've agreed with some and disagreed with others. Ever heard "don't shoot the messenger?" I'm sorry I never stumbled upon overly joyous articles out there about how much Kyrie loved Cleveland and admired the Cavaliers organization.

And while you're grasping at straws, I feel like it needs to be said (again, it's sad I even have to say this) that me and Rob were clearly having fun with Mexi when Rob posted "Mexidahmus" and I posted "lel." I don't understand how you could come to any other conclusion than that, but I've learned through life that some things you just can't make sense of.

I was using just that exchange as a general showcase of how the threads go. You post a Kyrie article about his apparently unhappiness, someone talks about the Cavs being dysfunctional because of recycled information, I step in and say something and I'm being defensive apparently.

I wasn't calling you out for relaying the messages, I was talking about the constant posting of articles that contained no new information, and that every time I disputed something ridiculous, I was called defensive and in denial. Hey guess what, I wasn't and actually knew what I was talking about. I'm sure you find it very pleasing when someone brings up the Sixers trade and says the Pelicans lost it, and you don't consider constantly arguing against that as you being defensive.

Nice pot shot at the end though.

I have said on numerous occasions that I couldn't careless what people think about that trade. I do respond on occasion but more times than not I just ignore it. If you see something against Kyrie that you disagree with, then maybe it would be for the best if you ignored it was well.

It has nothing to do with something I disagree with. It has to do with false information.

You seem to have this false pretense that there were people going around saying Kyrie was going to turn down a five year max extension. That was never the case. Maybe there were one or two, but one or two people do not make up the majority. In that regard, you were far from the "only person that was right." If you were arguing that people were going around saying he wasn't happy and wanted out of Cleveland, then yeah then you would have a case. But those two things are very very different.

You said "you'd bet by the time he signs a new contract, it won't be in Cleveland", Pugz said "I expect him to leave", and when I disputed this with the fact that he'd be turning down millions of guaranteed dollars, he said the following year he'd get paid anyway, mexi started quoting Mychal Thompson stating that when he gets out of his rookie contract, he's going to LA. No on else gave their opinion on it. Again, all I did was tell people hes not turning down money, he's not leaving Cleveland, and I kept getting deemed sensitive and "not real", whatever that means. If he wanted out, he would have refused the extension, got traded, and signed it else where.

It was more than just everyone arguing he wanted out and was unhappy, over half the damn forum assumed and said he was not going to be on this team in the near future.

Again, all I was saying originally is everyone around here kept talking about how unhappy he was, how he will not be on the team soon, how he might go the QO route. He finally does sign the extension, and now he's not worth it.

I never ever ever thought he'd stay.

But I must admit that I am THRILLED to be eating my words on that one. This is great for the NBA, and great to see a young player decide to believe in his organization instead of pissing and moaning his way out of town (I'm looking at you, Kevin Love).

he's not worth this much money annually. it's good for the team that he signed, but that's the nature of the business.

dan, by now id hope you would have realized a lot of topics get posted because they'll spark activity or debate. anything kyrie related is one of them. i guess you don't see that though. when we voice our opinion of him you seem to get very emotional.

Got it, despite me usually being wrong about things and admitting it when it happens.

How long will you continue to say you were the only one right until you realize that isn't the least bit true?
