Kobe Bryant signs two-year extension with the Lakers, the team announces. Would have been a free agent after 2013-14

23.5 million the first year of the deal, 25 million the second year.

I wouldn't have given him anywhere near that kind of money. I don't care what he did for the team in the past, it's about the future. Lakers organization is crazy dumb

I'm just glad we're gonna see one guy retire with his team. We really only have him and Dirk left of that generation.

Agreed. 23.5M is 40% of the cap. I don't know how you justify giving one player that much money, even if they are worth it.

I must be midreading what you're saying, because there are still a number of guys left in the league. Tim Duncan, Chauncey Billups, Vince Carter, Paul Pierce, Antawn Jamison, Ray Allen, Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, etc

He was also 1 of 2 players in the NBA who averaged 20 or more shots a game, went down with a pretty bad achilles injury and hasn't played since and is a player who really likes to take control and drive to the rim and be explosive and it's very unlikely he'll be like that again.

NOT worth it.
