NFL.com - The Loins have traded quarterback Jon Kitna to the Cowboys, who will use the veteran as insurance for starter Tony Romo.

Detroit addressed a need with the trade, landing cornerback Anthony Henry from Dallas.
Wooooo, no more Kitna.

What's your guys's depth chart look like at qb right now?

1. Culpepper
2. Stanton
3. Henson

I presume you guys are going to draft a qb out of the draft, who's going to mentor him?

Culpepper I assume. They said that's why we kept him.

Henry is a decent DB, so it was an awesome trade for Detroit. It really doesn't make sense for Dallas.

Are you talking about Roy Williams? If so, how dare you.

I'm surprised they didn't release him. I really hope Culpepper gets the starting position, a big reason he's struggled on so many teams is because they never gave him a chance and never let him get used to the team.

Yeah, I thought Kitna was already released to be honest.

Mayhew pulled a steal IMO. Getting anything for Kitna is a good job lmao.

Kind of a slap in the face for Henry, when you think about it lol.

Haha pretty much.

Then again who wouldn't wanna be traded for a trash QB to a 0-16 team <3

Kitna's days were done in Detroit regardless. You know the man is happy b/c instead of being cut by the Lions, the trade keeps him under contract and still employed.

As for Henry...never too big on him...he had some good games with the Cowboys. I wouldn't expect him to be any part of the Lions' future but could be a mentor for what will be a young Lions team.

Orlovsky is a much better choice for Detroit;

In games where Dan threw over 30 passes (Washington, @ Chicago, @ Indy, and @ Green Bay) the Lions blew leads after halftime in 3/4 of those games. They Lions should stick with Orlovsky, and work on the Defense.

I dont know exactly how sold the Lions were on Orlovski under Rod Marinelli...and I believe that the new Lions regime will opt for a bigger name coming out of the draft within the next 2 years.

I still cannot figure out why the Lions opted to bring in Culpepper off the street last season...rather than give Orlovski time on the field. The Lions were the worst team ever in 2008 but at least the season was fit to let him go out, take his lumps, and make all his mistakes.
