Los Angeles Kings veteran forward Jarret Stoll has been placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury he suffered in the 3-1 loss Thursday night against the Florida Panthers.

The team also sent rookie defenseman Slava Voynov to the team's AHL affiliate in Manchester and recalled forwards Dwight King and Jordan Nolan.

Stoll, 29, has appeared in 177 consecutive games dating to Jan. 4, 2010. His numbers have declined this season after being dropped from second-line center to the third line to make room for Mike Richards, who was acquired in an offseason trade.

Stoll recently moved back to the second line, but he has been playing right wing instead of his natural center position. He has five goals and 10 assists in 55 games. Last season, he totaled 20 goals and 23 assists.

Voynov, 22, has played in 26 games, totaling four goals and seven assists, tying him for seventh among rookie defensemen with 11 points. Kings coach Darryl Sutter recently said Voynov's play has been solid but he wasn't familiar enough with the personnel on opposing teams.

Nolan is the son of Ted Nolan, formerly the head coach of the Buffalo Sabres (1995-97) and New York Islanders (2006-08). He has not yet played in the NHL.

The 22-year-old from Saskatchewan, Canada, has nine goals and 13 assists in 40 games with the Monarchs. He was also second on the team with 119 penalty minutes.

King played six games with the Kings last season. The 22-year-old from Ontario, Canada, has 11 goals and 18 assists in 50 games with Manchester.

The Kings next play Saturday afternoon against the Islanders in New York
