Vivek Ranadive is believed to be the most intrigued by the candidacy of Kevin McHale as the Sacramento Kings search for their next head coach.
McHale was fired at the start of this season by the Houston Rockets.
McHale has been cautious in his approach to the job as the Kings have gone through several coaches during the ownership tenure of Ranadive.
McHale has broadcasting opportunities available to him should he decide to remain out of coaching.

..It is unlikely that Joerger, 42, will be out of work for long. The Sacramento Kings have made him their No. 1 candidate and are planning to move quickly to secure a deal with him, league sources said.
The Sacramento Kings and Dave Joerger are making progress on their discussions for him to become their next head coach.
Joerger will have a meeting on Monday with officials from the Kings that will include Vivek Ranadive.
Joerger and Vlade Divac spent considerable time discussing a partnership on Sunday.
The framework of a deal is in place with a three-year, $4 million deal.
Sacramento has gone through multiple head coaches and front-office executives in recent years.
Joerger was fired by the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday after months of internal acrimony. Joerger had sought permission to interview with other teams for the second time in three seasons.
