Kids in the clubhouse: Your thoughts?

I'm sure everyone heard by now about why Laroche decided to retire. The White Sox told him he couldn't bring his kid into the clubhouse every day.

What are your thoughts on this? Should player kids not be allowed in clubhouses?

I think Joe Maddon got this perfect when he told his players: "...kids are welcome but must be out of the clubhouse 3 hours before game time." Laroche apparently had an agreement with the White Sox regarding his son being around the team but they didn't anticipate Drake would literally be around the team every minute of the workday. I can respect Laroche wanting to pass the game along to his son but the kid taking drills with the team is very excessive.

It seems like the players loved having him around though, and most of the players came out and said he wasn't a problem at all. Even Chris Sale hung up Drake's jersey at his locker after news came out and he seemed pretty pissed off.

I don't see an issue with it if the manager and player come to a fair agreement. Joe Maddon got it perfect, but with the Laroche situation I don't see a big deal considering all the players were ok with it.

Apparently not all players were okay with it. I know Chris Sale and Adam Eaton claim otherwise but I think its a situation where a few players went to management instead of confronting an entire clubhouse. The White Sox added some new players this year and I find it hard to believe all 50+ players at camp were comfortable with a teenager hanging around the team constantly.

I think it is a great thing to have kids in the clubhouse. Just keep them out like what was said earlier, three hours before gametime. And they can only come three days a week. Easy fix right there.

Not a big deal as long as he doesn't get in the way of the players and their workouts.
