sullinger won't ever be an all star player so no, he can't be a milsap type player.

His back was the only reason he wasn't a Top 7 pick. Saying he doesn't have potential is crazy. He needs a defensive big with him to be at his best, and Pek is definitely that, Dieng too. His jumper is much much improved, and if he continues at this rate will be fairly decent.

I see no reason why Sullinger can't be Milsap-like, with a worse shot?

Terrence Jones is Marvin Williams at best

Oh dear God. Come back down to Earth on this Sullinger kid who is inferior to Terrence Jones, both now and in regards to potential.

TJones has some post moves, no trouble finishing, and has a developing jump shot that will only get better. He's a much better defender than Sully but that's the difference in being athletic. He blocks shots and rebounds quite well considering he's fighting for those boards and blocks with Dwight Fucking Howard. The mere fact that Terrence Jones didn't completely disappear as a paint big next to Dwight Howard should be an indication of how good he can (and likely will) be.

Terrence Jones is not a great player right now, but he's improved steadily since his addition the rotation and gaining the starting role last season. The guy's only getting picked on lately because he ran into a player he couldn't defend due to being 4 inches shorter than him.

Houston would be making a HUGE mistake if they continued to start Asik over Jones next season. Not that I'm too worried about that, as I'm sure one will no longer be on the roster by then (I hope it's Asik because Jones is a potentially special player).

Also, I like the combination of Dieng/Sully but Pek isn't a very good defender, just so you know. I think Minnesota made a huge mistake in giving Pekovic such a lengthy deal when he's not a great two way player and gets hurt all the time. Dude's a fun guy to watch, and they call him "The Big Pekker" on Minneapolis-St. Paul morning shows (it's fucking hilarious) but he's not a defensive big.

But one thing, there isn't a four inch height difference between Aldridge and Jones

It sure looked like it, though, didn't it. Doesn't Aldridge have a freakish wingspan, though? That could have been part of it.

Yeah, his wingspan is nearly 7'5. Jesus Christ. Jones' is a little over 7'2, but that's pretty drastic.

No, it wasn't. Every issue I listed is massive, and limits his potential. And continues at what rate? His efficiency went down dramatically this year, partly due to less talent around him, more to do with a larger role, that energy players such as him can't handle effectively.

You see no reason because you're a Celtics fan. Millsap is the outlier, not the rule. Everyone compares their undersized, lacking athleticism PF to Millsap, but 99 times out of 100, they're not going to turn out as nearly as good as him.

Three inches of wingspan isn't really all that drastic. Regardless Jones was too skinny to guard LA. I also agree about sully, he's solid but there's not really much room for improvement.

I once saw Sullinger hit transition 3's on back to back possessions.

I don't know what else to do with this information.

I wound up in the middle of a dust devil strong enough to carry my hat 50 feet away. Man that was freaky.

Random, unexplainable things just happen sometimes. My dust devil, the dream you had about Sully hitting consecutive transition threes :p.

For the record, I don't think it happens in Houston, so I don't know if we'll ever see the best of Terrence Jones, but his skillset is absolutely conducive to consistent improvement.

dust devil, ground tornado, whirlwind, etc. Dust storm might have been a better term to use.
