As stated above. Wilt did what he did against a bunch of short white dudes in a league of 8 teams.

Whoopty fucking doo.

MJ ain't the greatest of all time, and neither is Wilt. There is not ONE greatest. Impossible to determine this.

Whoopty fucking doo.

Shawn Bradley (7'6") was inches taller than alot of shorter black dudes and he sucked
Manute Bol (7'6") was inches taller than a whole ton of people and he sucked
Gheorghe Muresan (7'5") was inches taller than alot of centers and he sucked
Chuck Nevitt (7'5") was taller than his counterparts and he sucked

Do you see where I'm going with this?

Look, the mistaken assumption that Wilt played against dwarf lilliputian white guys throughout his career has been disproven too many times to count. It simply wasn't the case, and even if it was, the argument is a little tired. He was tall, so what? Since when has height alone been the determining factor of an NBA career? If you need any more evidence of that, look above.

But most importantly, given your logic, please let me know when we can take away from Yao Ming's achievements because he was the tallest player in his generation. Please give me a call when we can undermine Shaquille's career because he was a never before seen athletic 325lbs specimen that dominated because he was significantly heavier than his opposition. Please get ahold of me when exactly we can be critical of Kareem because his "Sky Hook" was virtually unblockable due to his height. Please, most of all, be consistent, because it sounds like there's a ton of discrediting yet to do.

This argument is always going to go down, and truthfully it's so damn tough to call. I mean for example in football, how can you compare Johnny Unitas with Peyton Manning? You can make all the assumptions in the world about what would do in each era, but it's virtually impossible to compare them fairly.

Wilt being compared to anyone in the MJ era and beyond especially is just insane. MJ with his talents back in that day would have put on a fucking show for sure. Wilt was playing against people who had no chance in hell stopping him when he got the ball down low, and 100 points in one game is the true indicator of that. If he played against guys who had close to the same height as him, and physical talents, what would he have done?

We don't know.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Wilt was able to use his superior size and skill to take advantage of the current rules in the NBA ie a lane half as wide and no offensive interference. After the NBA widened the lane his PPG went down immediately.
