Probably the biggest name being shopped extensively at the moment, so I felt a topic was worthy.

Discuss any rumors you see. The latest:

  • Some GMs are convinced the Diamondbacks will move Upton, ESPN.com's Buster Olney reports. However, there probably won't be a high volume of serious suitors for Upton, Olney writes. The Pirates, Blue Jays, Rangers, Tigers, Braves, Cubs, Mariners, Indians, Mets and Reds are possible fits for Upton, Olney writes.
  • Richard Durrett of ESPN Dallas looks at why and how the Rangers could trade for Upton, though Durrett says he doesn't think Texas would deal top prospect Jurickson Profar, who is "about as close to untouchable as this organization has right now."
  • Rival executives say Diamondbacks officials are willing to consider offers for Upton because they are not convinced that he is a winning player, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports writes. Rosenthal predicts the Diamondbacks will trade Upton for a package of players including a young third baseman or shortstop and Major League help.

Buster Olney went on some Cleveland radio station and said the Diamondbacks could accept an offer of Lonnie Chisenhall and two MLB ready players for Upton.

Hate seeing the Rangers constantly linked to all these big-time players while the Yankees are comfortable sitting by and doing nothing

well that's definitely a good young 3B they could get.

any idea what the other two mlb-ready players would be? or is he just speculating?

Just an idea of what they're asking for in return. The Indians don't have much, prospect wise at the upper levels though.

true, didn't consider that.

Surprised the team hasn't been looking into more starting pitching, but I think we'll hear about their intentions in a week or so.

From what I've heard the Yankees won't even attempt to do much

If they do get into it, Garza would be their first target, who I don't want at all

i wouldn't want him either.

I get the feeling they want starting pitching but don't like anything on the Market.

It'd be pretty damn sweet to have Upton in our lineup with the way Bautista, Encarnacion, and Rasmus are playing. It would really give us that extra push and make us a much scarier team for a pitchers. Although, we could really use some more rotation help.

Upton May Accept Trades to No-Trade List

Justin Upton has 4 teams on no-trade list, but agent Larry Reynolds said it would not preclude Upton from accepting a trade there.

After weeks of speculation and rumors surrounding Justin Upton, Diamondbacks president Derrick Hall says that there's "close to a 100 percent chance nothing happens" between now and the July 31 trade deadline.

"I would be completely shocked if anything were to happen in-season," Hall said of Upton. "You have a better chance of moving a star-caliber player like Justin in the offseason, when teams know exactly where they finished and where they're heading, and they can get more creative.

"We'll field all proposals and conversations. You never know. But I would be surprised if anything happens in the offseason, either."

Upton, 24, has been the subject of rumors since reports surfaced before the All-Star break that the Diamondbacks were willing to entertain trade offers for him.
