According to NFl.com, Head Coach Raheem Morris has announced that backup QB Josh Johnson will take over the starting job for Byron Leftwich, who was puleld from action during the third quarter in their week 3 24-0 loss to the Giants.
Rookie Josh Freeman is bumped up in the DC to #2, putting Leftwich at #3.
“I think the secret is out of the bag. This a young team,” Morris said. “We’re in constant evaluation of our guys. We have to look at all our young players and see what they’re going to be, what they have the opportunity to be. It certainly won’t be the only change, but it certainly will be one of the biggest.”
They were saying during the game yesterday that Leftwich was starting, Joshnson was backup. When they felt Freeman was ready to step in, he would be #1 and Johnson #2. Looks like maybe 6-8 games we'll see Josh Freeman playing.
