According to NFl.com, Head Coach Raheem Morris has announced that backup QB Josh Johnson will take over the starting job for Byron Leftwich, who was puleld from action during the third quarter in their week 3 24-0 loss to the Giants.

Rookie Josh Freeman is bumped up in the DC to #2, putting Leftwich at #3.

“I think the secret is out of the bag. This a young team,” Morris said. “We’re in constant evaluation of our guys. We have to look at all our young players and see what they’re going to be, what they have the opportunity to be. It certainly won’t be the only change, but it certainly will be one of the biggest.”

They were saying during the game yesterday that Leftwich was starting, Joshnson was backup. When they felt Freeman was ready to step in, he would be #1 and Johnson #2. Looks like maybe 6-8 games we'll see Josh Freeman playing.

I know Byron was terrible this week, but he was pretty solid in weeks 1 and 2

Ya he was, his fantasy numbers were good which is why I picked him up for week 3. I knew he would get beat up week 3 but thought he would do somewhat better and pick it back up week 4. Thankfully I already picked up Shaun hill as his replacement.

but yeah i mean, if you saw his performance, he should have been picked off more than just once, he was that bad. He was throwing balls to defenders rather than just taking the sack, and making terrible decisions.

Byron Leftwich is not the answer in Tampa. You could tell when Josh was in that the Bucs played with more motivation and urgency. Its time to let the young guys take the helm.

I didn't think Leftwhich was doing that bad...damn. Well I guess it wouldn't hurt TB to put Johnson in

Same here, I've been riding his dick since day one.

I'm gonna try to nab tickets for next weeks game since me and my buddy are big Johnson fans.

I've said it before, we need him, he runs a 4.4, he has the quickest god-damn release I've seen, and he's accurate as <Censored>.

That pass to Stroughter *spelling* was the best pass I've seen from a Tampa quarterback in years, let's go JJ.

Hmmm, I don't know a ton about Josh Johnson but I hope the best and hopefully he'll help out that stuttering Tampa offense right now... The defense needs to get their sh/t together too, it's been horrific to watch. Most teams previously never ran through that Buccaneer defense let alone throwing bombs and burning them every play. I got faith in the Bucs to get it together... Monte Kiffin was one of the best defensive coordinators in the game of football, wish he was still with the Bucs. Probably wouldn't matter right now away because they've lost half of their defensive players...

JJ threw 44-touchdowns and one-interception his senior season of college.

He's a damn good quarterback who is finally getting the attention, and job, he deserves.

To be rather honest, I have no idea.

McCown wasn't THAT bad, and we had two rookies (JJ on practice squad last year) we could test.
