He's a great coach. Old (66), but a great coach. I'm guessing he wanted to give the NBA a try before retiring. I'm sure they'll put assistants around him with a lot of experience. This also puts him closer to his son, who is now the head coach at Niagara.
for the record, his age and possible stress levels is what makes me think he wont make the duration. i was on board with him coaching the pistons last season when those rumors popped up
