How is a guy with 600 career homers not a first ballot HOFer?

I dont think the voters are going to vote him in 1st ballot because he never won a World Series and never won an MVP award. The voters are very stringent and there are some that dont vote anyone in 1st ballot unless they were an ultimate transcendent player.

He should have won the MVP in 2002 and it's not like he never came close to the world series either.. He made it twice. That's no reason to not be a 1st ballot guy.

He has a better lifetime OPS than some current HOFers and some players that are generally considered to be HOFers.

Keep in mind: The guys that were winning MVPs and being on the All-Star teams when Thome wasn't......the same guys who got caught using PEDs.
