Washington Nationals manager Jim Riggleman has resigned due to displeasure with his contract situation.

The moves comes after the Nationals defeated the Seattle Mariners 1-0 Thursday to move to 38-37 on the season

Wow, that's a shame. I thought he was a pretty good manager and the Nats look to be turning it around as a franchise.

I didn't get this either. Should of been extended, no question.
People are actually talking about the Nats, in a positive way. They've been playing well.

Big problems between him and Rizzo is the reason he resigned. Hopefully this doesn't slow the Nats down. They're a great story this year.

Now it makes him look like a quitter when I really don't think he is. They should have extended his contract. I guess he wanted some certainty and they weren't going to give him that.

Damn dumb move by the Nationals letting him go. Now they are going to regress a little.

It's not like Riggleman is irreplaceable.. A lot of guys will want this job in the off-season with all the young talent they have. They'll survive.
