Lol, he's regressed ever since his 54 homerun season. His prime is gone.

It's tough to follow up a 50 home run season. Missing at least 24 games in the three seasons that followed and dealing with hip problems while playing two of them makes it even harder. The jury is still out on him until after this season to see how he plays without the pain in his hip.

Either way he has had a major drop off in stats and he has aged which proves he has left the peak of his career.

When are you going to understand the concept that age has nothing to do with prime?

When are you going to understand that once your stats go down and you regress, you leave your prime?

And like Pugz has told you many times, it does.

His stats regressed due to lack of games played and he was playing hurt when he did. Is Jacoby Ellsbury no longer in his prime because he played 9 games or w/e last year?

Nowhere in the definition of prime does it say that their is a time limit. It's all about performance, has nothing to do with age.

see i think people overrated jackie

he was very very good, dont get me wrong on that. but people overvalue him because he was a black inspirationist. If he was white, he would not be considered as good.

he still might crack the top 10, but #3 is way too high
he broke the colour barrier for pro sports. how does that make him lower on the list?

Jackie is top 3 for what he did off the field, than on the field. He was an integral part of baseball becoming universal. Jeter maybe top 10, but thats cutting it close. As for A-rod, Im sorry I cant put that guy even in the top 20 greatest athletes after taking steroids. A cheater is a cheater no matter what he does.

Sigh....

You'll always be so defensive towards the Yankees.

A-Rod used steroids in Texas, doesn't mean he wasn't a great NY athlete

I don't care what team they play for. Roy Halladay is past your typical prime age and he's still pitching like an ace, I'd considering him still in his prime. We only ever talk about them because everything I say about them is under a microscope by you

Because that's exactly what he said

Wouldn't make any sense to come out and say you did steroids and only tell half the truth

He lied about taking steroids in 2007 and 2009, why would he start telling the truth afterwards when he got caught?

Yeah, but he could also only say during his time in Texas to make it seem like not so big of a deal. It would have changed a lot of people's views even more so if they found out he was doing them with his current team.

A-Rod will be known as a roid user for his whole career, even if it was just in Texas (which I doubt)

However, I always think of A-Rod as this
