Jay-Z and one of his business partners are suing Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz, claiming he named his Dominican nightclub after the mogul's chain of 40/40 clubs.

The lawsuit accuses Ortiz of calling his Santo Domingo club Forty-Forty in the hopes of trading on the rap star's fame.

The suit seeks over $5 million in damages and for Ortiz to forfeit any use of the 40/40 name.

First Ortiz looks like he's done (though to be honest he looked this way early last season as well), now this. If he didn't play for Boston, I'd really feel sorry for him. Not much seems to be going right for him at the moment.

So Jay-Z is <Censored>ing over this seriously? Yeah I agree, just talk to him personally rather than suing <_<

If push comes to shove, hell yeah then throw a suit at him but I think this could have been worked out in another way

It did seem Jay-Z came after Ortiz pretty quick. However, I'm not sure how long Ortiz's club has been open for. Maybe Jay-Z already sent him a "Cease & Desist" order and Ortiz ignored it.
