the hit was bad but seriously its football and its a risk you need to take if you want to play. i like the rule but i dont like how the refs look for it 24/7 now.

<Censored> was mother <Censored>ing dirty.

LOL at Harrison. He's a baby. Now he's saying he might retire.

Seriously though, the rule is fine! But the refs are interpreting it and over using it. The Dunta Robinson hit was clean IMO. Didn't lead with his head, and he was just going for the play, and for all he knew DeSean was gonna catch it.
Seriously????? Watch the replay. He put his head down, was staring completely at the ground and hit him. Watch it more closely.

This new rule will lead to more injuries which isnt that the basis of the rule? I like the rule but on very selective plays, I dont want players to have to be thinking about this rule in the back of their minds. Doesnt a running back lead with their head as well when running with the ball and seeing a defender? I think the rule should be solely based on intent and that way it wouldnt affect the play on the field as much.
Are you kidding me? More injuries for preventing players from helmet to helmet hits, and leading with their helmets???? I don't see how that would mean more injuries. It would mean less if there is any change.

All through high school football, they teach you how to tackle. You put your facemask on the ball, and drive through, not point your helmet at the ball carrier and throw yourself, thats how people get seriously injured, even killed.

Quit whining football is a physical game and is becoming soft. That's the price you pay for playing the game.

Football is still gonna be physical even with this rule. People need to learn how to play smart, instead of like little adolescent punks. You can make a big hit on a guy without leading with your helmet.

Ive been watching videos and <Censored>. The people back than actually tackled. They wrapped the players up and took them to the ground. All you see now from most players on defense these days is people just diving and just throwing themselves at players. Yes I do oppose this rule but now I guess that players will actually be tackling properly instead of just diving right at players.

Thank you.. Please. These guys are getting paid millions of dollars, they are putting their body on the line. A guy like James Harrison is going to go out and kick the <Censored> out of people, it is what he gets paid to do. The hit on Mass, calling that dirty is a complete joke.

Exactly. Back to real tackles.

The league is full of athletes that were unheard of 10 years ago... Oh, and the big names are all big hitters (Landry, Polamalu, Lewis, etc). There is no such thing as a solid fundamental wrap up tackler. It's all about the big hit.

Oh my heck. You can still have a big hit with a wrap up tackle...wow. Or some kind of tackle that doesn't mean you lower your head and launch towards your victim.

Do you play football? You have to play like you are trying to hurt people - or else YOU get hurt.

http://digitalsportsdaily.com/news/4213-nfl-expands-coverage-for-former-players-with-als.html

I'm not for it, and I know going into the NFL players are more than aware of the risk of injury; however, there is a line from trying to give someone a concussion and making a clean, hard, hit.

<Censored> is going to happen, it's a fast game, things go wrong, human error is at a premium in football, but that's how it's been played for 100-years, why stop now?

How many players retired and died because of concussions? It's ###### up, but it happens, I think the NFL is forgetting that those players didn't have the knowledge, equipment, and technology that we have today. Nevertheless, the players are bigger, faster, and stronger. When the 'Phins went undefeated in '72 the fastest man in the world ran a 10.20-100 yard dash, that was Russian Valeri Borzov, now, Usuain Bolt runs it in 9.69; however, speed is much more common now-a-days.

I agree with this on some levels.

Back when Deacon Jones played, that was his main goal, and people respected him for that, now that a Man says that he's frowned upon.

It makes no sense to be honest, make players wear those <Censored>ing titan helmets for all I care, just stop letting them <Censored> out.

Helmets aren't gonna prevent concussions. If you knock heads with someone, your gonna get one.

Polamalu can wrap-up.. He is the best defensive player in the league for a reason more than big hit ability.

As for the mentality of football, I agree. It's be the hunter, or play hunted. You have to want to kill that guy, or you'll get hurt. Unfortunately, when these guys are as big as they are, and strong as they are, people will end up hurt.

The rule is fine. The refs aren't. Fine the guy if it's on purpose like Harrison and Merriweather, but if it's not like Robinson who didn't even lead with his head, let it slide. The refs are just way to picky with it.

Robinson completely led with his head man. I don't see how you can't see that. Watch the replay and push pause right before the hit. Dunta drops his head and plows it right into Jackson.
