How Will You Remember Tony Romo, With or Without a Super Bowl Win?

Take a few moments to talk about this phenomenal player. I don't know if he'll have a better shot at a Super Bowl title than this.

As far as I'm concerned, he's the best QB in franchise history, and I don't think any lack of a Super Bowl ring will change that in my eyes. Tony Romo had nothing, absolutely nothing to do with this loss, today. The guy played very well, like he almost always does, and once again, teammates let him down. DeMarco Murray carried the ball like a loaf of bread and fumbled on what should have been a touchdown. Dez Bryant made a catch but was not cognizant of what might happen if he extends and lets the ball touch the ground. If he just brings it in with two hands and thinks about the first down for the team more than the touchdown for himself, there's no chance that an obvious catch can be overturned.

Once again, Tony Romo is let down by those around him. I don't know what to think, at this point. He's not going to get a legitimate shot at a Super Bowl title. Irritating.

Tony Romo is phenomenal and I hate that his body might not let him play for another 4-5 years. I think he has a 1-2 year window to try to get back in playoff contention, and recent history doesn't look good for that.

Anyway, how do the rest of you feel about #9?

Dez Bryant made a phenomenal catch (the best of his career) and deserves no blame for a senseless rule that somehow is still in place after Calvin Johnson's "no catch" that cost the game a couple seasons ago. He let nobody down and I feel terrible for the guy. You need to get your head checked if you think Dez deserves blame for that.

Unless he wins a super bowl he will never be widely considered better than Staubach.

I also like how the post insinuates that Dez Bryant was being selfish for trying to score a touchdown.

You're either a jerk for not trying hard enough because you don't want to get injured before a contract opportunity, or you're a jerk because you tried too hard for the GLORIFICATION of your massive ego.

Super Bowl titles don't fucking matter when you've never had the pieces around you.

Most people will, and should view Staubach as the better QB because the game was played so differently back then that you can't compare them statistically. So how else do you compare them? Winning.

And yes super bowl titles DO matter to most people. It's why Boston fans think Manning isn't the best all time because he only won one super bowl.

Murray had one of the best seasons at running back in recent memory, Dez Bryant is one of the best receivers in the league, solid secondary receiving options, decent enough defense, and all we heard about all year was about how the Cowboys had the best offensive line in football.

I'm not blaming Romo for not having a super bowl, but he certainly wasn't lacking talent around him.

What I'm saying is that Romo hasn't routinely had those pieces, unlike most QBs who've won even one Super Bowl title.

They definitely had those pieces early on in his tenure. From 2010-2013 is another story.

And once again, in those playoff games, his teammates let him down. Countless issues in the Giants game. The defense imploded against Minnesota. There really isn't a playoff game in which Romo didn't perform well.

As for the botched snap--very first playoff game, slick football that wasn't swapped out for a kicking ball, like it should have been. And let's also consider that he shouldn't have been holding for kicks anymore after he became the starting quarterback. That was an awful, awful decision by Parcells.
