Just heard strange rumor from EC source: Celtics talking about possibility of Pierce & Bradley for Eric Gordon

Well that's just silly, knowing that Bradley is more valuable than Gordon

Unless you expect Jeff Green to become your definitive scorer, this would be a good deal for the Celtics as long as Gordon stays healthy.

Plus, Pierce is dead weight. Get rid of him any way you can. At least KG is still helpful to the team.

Lol no he isn't.
Gordon has played in 61% of his possible games in his career. 61%. After giving Gordon a big contract and being the main piece in the CP3 trade, they wouldn't want to trade him away if his health wasn't a concern, because when healthy he is a pretty good scorer.

I'll take a guy who is a Top 3 defensive guard in the NBA on a DEFENSIVE FOCUSED TEAM and one of the greatest Celtics ever as a locker room presence for one more year than have the quite-injured undersized scorer.

Why would the Hornets consider this?

Bradley missed almost as many games as Gordon this season.

The Pels have dismissed trade rumors regarding Gordon regardless.

I don't care for Gordon but I wouldn't do this trade if I was the Pelicans

Ok, that has nothing to do with being more valuable though.  Lets also not act like Bradley's injury history is squeaky clean either.

A top 3 defender is definitely more valuable than an undersized scorer

Like I said before, NOLA wouldn't trade away Gordon unless they view Bradley higher

Eric Gordon is a much better defender than just "decent or above average."  For their careers Bradley has been a low 0.7 points per possession guy and Eric Gordon is a high 0.7 points per possession guy, which would make Bradley elite and Gordon a hair away from it, if he wasn't there already.

So you wouldn't take a near elite defender who can score 20 ppg every night compared to a elite defender who has never averaged more than 9 ppg?  You wouldn't take that on a team that can't score the basketball?

smh, yes he is. bradley is a guy who can average 8-12ppg and play lock down defense. There is a reason he got the 4th most votes in the All-Defensive teams.

and i've known of avery since he and john wall were the top hs prospects. so yea, i knew who he was

And stats from 82games.com

Its Avery and its not close. And 1.11 is not elite, at all.

Stats from a actual scouting service > 82games

And I'm not even going to waste time arguing with you, it's clear you have a hard on for Bradley.  But if you really look at 82games (and not stats that indicate what the TEAM allows and not the player) you'll see that what you quoted isn't what you should be looking at.

It's as if scoring the basketball has become an underrated ability. This game is about buckets.

(playing devil's advocate) Then shouldn't stopping buckets be just as important?
