According to Bloomberg.com, a women’s advocacy group had arranged for a banner to be flown over four NFL stadiums in Week Two urging the ouster of Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Planes pulling the message “@Ultraviolet:  #GoodellMustGo” will fly for two hours before games at MetLife Stadium (Cardinals-Giants), First Energy Field (Saints-Browns), Levi’s Stadium (Bears-49ers), and Lucas Oil Stadium (Eagles-Colts).  No-fly restrictions apply at all stadiums one hour before kickoff.

Both Ultraviolet and the National Organization for Women have called for Goodell to resign after the release of the Ray Rice elevator video and the NFL’s efforts to explain what it knew, when it knew it, and why it even needed to know what was on the video in order to understand what Rice knocking his then-fiancée out actually looked like.

While I don't particularly like Goodell, I fear ridding him from the league would show us that his absurd ideas were only the tip of the iceberg.

A new commissioner could technically restore some of of football's integrity, but it could also result in an even crazier individual taking the job and before we know it, there won't be kickoffs anymore, and pretty soon corners will practically have to play with their hands behind their backs.

I don't think he's going anywhere unless proof (email) comes out showing that he saw the video.

Keep in mind he's not a moral crusader, he's a guy who was hired to protect the interests of the Owners and make them money, and so far he's done just that. And he's not stepping down from a +$40 Million salary

Yeah he's not going anywhere as long he still has the support of the owners.

That's a issue with many things. If something happens under the watch, commissors espeically, people resort to the solution of getting rid of the commissioner. Like these things wouldn't happen under a different commissioner. You see all these incidences coming out, and I doubt they are the only ones. There are athletes that just can't seem to contain their anger and separate the game from reality. They spend most of their time hitting others, granted they are in pads. With these players, that mentality spills over to reality because they resort to that and feel thats the way to go about something. Unfortunately, it's difficult to monitor every single player and what they do off the field. I don't see how a new commissoner would be able to suddenly stop something that has even been happening before Goodell.

People aren't calling for his resignment because players are physically abusive. That may never change and I don't think people expect that it would under a new commissioner. They're calling for his head because of the way he has handled allegations of domestic/physical abuse. Its the sweeping things under the rug and other deceitful acts as well as poor judgement that has people calling for his resignation
