I feel like JBJ was snubbed in centre. Doesn't matter tho, its Buxton's anyways.

That's dumb that they do LF-CF-RF and not just 3 OF, because Jackie's the 2nd best defensive outfielder in the AL imo. he should have been nominated

Should they switch it to 4 infielders as well?

JBJ should be the only Sox that gets a Gold Glove (although Pedey could but Dozier should get it over him), yet we have 4 other guys nominated

and fwiw, the All Star Game does OF-OF-OF not LF-CF-RF, so its an unheard of concept

Mookie Betts is the best defensive corner outfielder in baseball.

He's getting a gold glove

You can’t abandon specific OF positions for gold glove voting or else CF’ers would clean up damn-near every year. That’s like saying the IF positions should be abandoned and the voting should be for 4 IF’ers regardless of where on the field.

Red Sox fans always see shit too much through the Red Sox goggles. I get it but let’s be objective once in a while.

Exactly as it reads. I think RSN is often way too biased. Like I said, I get it, but c'mon... Case in point, in the Red Sox fan's eyes, the Gold Glove eligibility should be broadened to abandon LF, CF, RF, because JBJ and Mookie didn't win.

Really?

Even if it was not position specific, JBJ still wouldnt win.
If it wasn’t position specific, he or another CF would beat the top candidate in LF every year.

No, he doesn’t as he wasn’t the best defensive CF. The solution is not to abolish actual positions in the awarding process either.

And look, I would push this less if it were something outlandish. But the freaking All Star Game has Springer in LF and Betts in CF, neither of which being their natural positions. They put the three most talented OFs in the lineup, rather than the best LF-CF-RF, so why do the Golden Glove awards have to be positionally set?

They’re unrelated. Obviously the All Star Game’s best interest is the most popular players being a part of the game. Why else would Giancarlo be in the HR Derby every year despite not being voted into the game?

Player position awards need to stay true to their intent.
