This is absolutely ridiculous.


You can't favor one player over another in terms of punishment. If Josh Gordon and Sam Hurd both get caught for weed, Gordon shouldn't get less suspension time than Hurd, just because he is "better".

You set a punishment for a certain action. Period. If you want to decrease it- that's fine. But you can't selectively punish someone due to their marketability

 
Sam Hurd was a cocaine kingpin who was moving ridiculous amounts of a much more dangerous drug around certain regions of this country. Josh Gordon likes weed. So not the same thing.
