This weekend, the Florida Marlins face their division rivals, the first-place Atlanta Braves, who are trying to give manager Bobby Cox one last pennant before he retires at season's end. Even a sweep would only get the Marlins to within six games of Atlanta.
So the Marlins may end up trading outfielder Cody Ross to the Braves before the July 31 trading deadline, according to the Boston Herald. The New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers have also asked about Ross, the paper reports.

The Herald notes that the Braves have had scouts watching Ross and are interested because the team is unsure how Nate McLouth(notes) will perform for the rest of the season, considering he is fresh off the disabled list.
Ross is hitting .275 with eight home runs and 47 RBIs this season.
