Is not 28 year old Fausto Carmona
Authorities in the Dominican Republic have arrested Cleveland Indians right-hander Fausto Carmona and accused him of using a false identity to try to obtain a U.S. visa, a police spokesman said.

Colonel Maximo Aybar Baez, a spokesman for the Dominican police, said on his Twitter account that Carmona, whose actual name is Roberto Hernandez Heredia, was arrested after leaving the U.S. Consulate in the Dominican Republic on Thursday.

Authorities said Heredia is 31 years old and not 28, as he has claimed. The Indians list Carmona's birthday as Dec. 7, 1983, in their 2011 media guide.

So what happens now, lol. Are they going to change his jersey, also I wonder if the Indians can get out of their contract with him if its a big long term deal since he is 31 not 28.

I think they could actually void his contract due to false birth certificate/visa or w/e.

They'll put him on the restricted list, meaning they still have his rights and don't have to pay him anything until he is allowed back in the United States.

Very interesting situation to see what happens. This process doesnt occur often, it prolly should more but baseball teams want that premier talent to play for them.

Last time it was with Miguel Tejada and his fiasco but I think he was or was becoming a free agent if I recall correctly.
