A source close to law enforcement told The Fred and Ted Show late Tuesday evening that Houston Police were contacted by the NFL after fans approached Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub at his home and berated him for his recent poor play.
No arrests were made.
“A fan went to his house and told him off,” said the source, adding that another person “took pictures of his family,” which were allegedly posted on Facebook. Fortunately, neither Schaub nor anyone in his family was hurt.
The irate fans left on their own accord before police could respond, and it’s believed Schaub and the Texans contacted NFL Security which asked for assistance from the Houston Police Department after the incident, according to the source.
Schaub has been under intense scrutiny following the team’s disastrous 2-3 start which has included the much maligned quarterback throwing a Pick-Six interception in an NFL-record four consecutive games. The Texans return home to Reliant Sunday at noon when they welcome the St. Louis Rams to town.

Some people take football way too seriously. The guy who accosted him is an embarrassment to NFL fans, his family, and himself. What a loser.

Yea I'm getting sick of people taking sports way too seriously, though I wonder if it's people who gamble.

There will always be at least a small group of fans who are "that serious" about any pro sports team really...especially if the expectations last year were Superbowl type expectations

I feel sorry for people that take sports this seriously.

You can get pissed off that your team sucks, or just had a bad game, but you shouldn't let that dictate your mood or actions for a long period of time.

At a press conference Wedesday, Texans quarterback Matt Schaub denied reports of an angry fan appearing at his house.
"There really wasn't an incident. No one came to the door. I did not hear anyone yell obscenities," Schaub said at Reliant Stadium.
Asked about somebody in his driveway, Schaub said he did call team security.
"It's the world we live in. There are passionate fans out there, for better or for worse," Schaub said.
Police said via Twitter that despite media reports to the contrary, no group of "angry fans" showed up at Schaub's home, but that the Schaub family did file a report regarding "two separate trespassers."
Officials with the Houston Police Department said via Twitter a family member reported a suspicious man in the driveway of their home taking photographs. But police officers were not called to the home.
Police said there was no other information to release and the investigation is in its "earliest stages."
The quarterback has been criticized recently in the media for poor play in Texans losses.
At the same press conference, Brian Cushing was asked how he would react if someone pulled in to his driveway shouting obscenities.
"I don't think that guy would be around much longer," Cushing said.

What did Texans fans honestly expect? Their team is solid, by all accounts, but as for whether or they not they can truly contend, they fail the eye test, imo.
