Oh and apparently the report of a kneecap fracture isn't true and he should be back soon.

Eric Gordon’s agent, Rob Pelinka, has engaged in recent contract extension talks with the Hornets’ front office, but hasn’t received an official offer.

Gordon said he has been informed by Dell Demps, general manager of the Hornets, that David Stern must decide whether to extend an offer.

“In terms of my contract extension, Dell Demps indicated that it’s out of his control and NBA commissioner David Stern has the last determination on the contract extension,” said Gordon.

either hes gonna get a contract too small or hes gonna get a max and fuck over the hornets. david stern being in charge of the extension is blah.

The Hornets have made Eric Gordon a four-year contract extension after receiving authorization from the NBA.

Gordon and the Hornets have until the end of Wednesday to reach a contract extension or he will become a restricted free agent at the end of the season.

Gordon had told Yahoo! Sports on Monday that he was waiting to learn whether NBA commissioner David Stern would grant him a contract extension before the deadline. Gordon said he was informed by Hornets general manager Dell Demps that it was up to Stern to decide whether to extend an offer. The NBA owns the Hornets.

:spideypalm:

The difference was 6M over a 4 year deal. Seriously? How much is that per year, 1.5M?

So instead, he's going to be a RFA this offseason, some team will come out and throw some crazy number, and either we're going to match it and pay MORE or we won't match him and lose him.

As opposed to being mediocre with two declining veterans and a chucker?

He's a restricted free agent, so he'll be back for at least next year. If they can't get a long term deal, they'll trade him and he's got a lot more value then Lamar Odom putting up 8 ppg on 35% while still depressed about being away from LA.

He was negotiating to stay in NOLA for four years. That is nothing but good news for Hornets fans.

I think we sign him to a four year deal during the offseason.
