The Philadelphia Eagles have parted ways with head coach Chip Kelly, announcing his firing on Tuesday.
Jeffery Lurie, the Chairman and CEO of the Eagles, released a statement on Kelly's departure:
"We appreciate all the contributions that Chip Kelly made and wish him every success going forward," said Lurie.
Kelly, who has been the head coach in Philadelphia for the past three seasons, has been let go with one game remaining in the regular season, with the Eagles naming Pat Shurmer as the interim head coach for Sunday's game against the New York Giants.
