Joe Dumars is expected to resign as president of the Detroit Pistons after the season.

The Pistons had playoff aspirations heading into the season, but the additions of Josh Smith and Brandon Jennings have created a mismatched roster.

The Pistons will lose their first round pick if it falls out of the top-8 due to the Ben Gordon for Corey Maggette trade from several years ago that saved the franchise $12 million.

4 years too late.

Hopefully Detroit basketball can go back to the glory days. When I first started watching basketball I used to witness the Raptors get their ass kicked by them, and I was a big Ben Wallace fan lol.

Nah they'll do it dignified. Dumars is too big of an icon to fire...especially if he's going to resign.

BTW I hate that resign and resign are the same word

I actually agree with you but they can't. Didn't he blame the economy? Like what a fuckin poor attempt at a cop out

exactly. the economy sucks but he was the one who refused to rebuild the right way. dude has burned through more than a $100M in bad extensions and free agent signings since he blew the team up with the billups trade. i refuse to get him a pass.

Not the same word

Re-sign is signing the player to a new contract
Resign is stepping down

The hyphen is key

Huge pet peeve of mine being in sim leagues is the whole resign vs. re-sign thing.

Only good move he's made in that span was drafting Andre Drummond and I'm pretty sure my cat could have figured out that it was the right pick at that moment on draft night.

He also made the incredibly egregious move in that time span of trading Arron Afflalo for a can of pringles.
