Drew Doughty and the Kings haven't made any progress on contract talks over the past few weeks and the blueliner is waiting for the club to contact him to resume negotiations.
Speaking on behalf of his client, agent Don Meehan reiterated Doughty's interest in remaining a King, saying "I think he'd be happy to stay if we agree upon terms that are acceptable to him. And those are our instructions, to negotiate with L.A. on that basis to secure something that he'd be happy with." It is believed the Kings have offered a nine-year contract at a rate of $6.5 million per season, but that seemingly won't get Doughty to sign on the dotted line. With an abitration hearing upcoming between the Predators and Shea Weber, it's possible the Doughty camp would like to use the results of that as a comparison for their ongoing negotiations. Stay tuned.

I expect him to obviously stay with the Kings in the long term. But they better get going on these talks -- Doughty is such a fucking stud.
