I wouldn't put him in a coaching tree at all. I imagine, if anything, he learned more about coaching during his years as an executive.

Played more for Phil than Pop I think but I'll give it to you because he played a lot of time with both

Maybe it's different in college because you only have one coach (unless somebody gets fired). Like for instance, Bobby Hurley has never coached at Duke, but is still considered part of the Mike Krzyzewski coaching tree.If you wanted to tell me it was different in the NBA, that's fine, but Mexi counted Walton on Jackson's tree, so I just went with it

Maybe Kerr is a hybrid from both trees and is going to be the winningest coach of all time because of it.
