Many analysts are now claiming that Steph Curry is the best player in the NBA. While he is the best shooter without question (maybe even in league history), there are still arguments to be made for several other players. Who do you think is currently the best player in the NBA?

Steph Curry. His vision and handling are severely underrated and undervalued

Curry is an average defender. Defense is 50% of the game. No way he's the best player in the league. Best scorer maybe. Not the best player because you have to factor in the defense.

He's overwhelming enough offensively that I think Curry is the best even without being a supreme defender

Hey guys remember that time OB on VSN tried to say he'd rather have Rajon Rondo than Curry or Westbrook?

Fyi I'm going to be starting positional rankings threads soon but waiting a little bit, both for this site to get more people and for us to get a little further into the season so votes aren't as skewed by hot or cold starts by individual players

Steph is unbelievable with his handles and his propensity to be able to shoot from anywhere on the floor, but LeBron (still) dominates the floor on both ends when it matters (playoffs and big games) and it's so incredibly hard to stop him because of his physically gifted he is.

What curry has been doing is truly amazing these last 11 games, so as of right now, 11 games in, Curry is prolly the best player in the league, cuz alot of the top dogs aren't really showing anything impressive just yet but I doubt he keeps this up the entire season.

After last year I didn't think Curry could get any better, but love to see him prove me wrong......so far

Love to see that after two good seasons (full season last year, half season the year before, and 11 games into this current season) that everyone is on the Curry train lol. I'll take LeBron on my team any day of the week. He impacts the game in every single category and is physically superior to every other player in the league.

There was a changing of the guard last year during the Finals. Ya Lebron is still unreal, but Steph runs the Association now

Maybe as far as teams go, but how can you even argue that? If anything, LeBron asserted his dominance... Nearly averaging a triple double for the series, putting a decimated team on his back, and leading BOTH teams in EVERY major statistical category.

I still have to go with LeBron. We're talking best all around player. Sure Steph puts up a ton of points but I believe it has something to do with the team around him and the system. LeBron could go onto any team and make them championship contenders right away. I hate LeBron but respect him as a player.

Anyone that makes an argument for a player other than Stephen Curry is trying too hard to be different in an attempt to sound intellectual. We're currently in the midst of watching one of the most skilled players in the history of the sport transform the game with his electrifying style of play. The scary part is that he hasn't even hit his prime yet and he's only going to get better. He's the best player in the league, bar none. Recognize greatness people. LeBron is still second in my book fwiw.

Nobody is trying to marginalize Curry because he is great. He's not on the overall level that LeBron is though.

Curry is unbelievable but part of what makes him great is the team and system he's on. It allows him to play the way that he does. You can't take Curry and put him on the 76ers and have them be the best team in the conference. You could put LeBron on any team in the league and they are a legitimate title contender with just him in the starting lineup.

38% shooting, terrible three point %, unclutch, and 58% usage rate. Fucking terrible. Any good offensive player would have put up great numbers with such usage rate and taking all the teams shots

What he did was nothing great
