ESPN.com - Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall is placing a target on Tony Romo's ribs heading into this Monday night's game against the Cowboys.

"Absolutely. I want to get a chance to put my helmet on whatever's hurt," Hall said. "Romo's ribs -- I'm going to be asking for some corner blitzes. If I know Felix Jones' shoulder's hurt, I'm not going to cut him. I'm definitely going to try to hit him up high, so that's just part of it.

"If you know something's wrong with an opponent, you're going to try to target in on that. We're going to try to definitely get as many hits on that team as possible."

Romo suffered a fractured rib and punctured lung at San Francisco on Sunday, but he returned to the game to lead the Cowboys to a 27-24 overtime victory.

Makes sense. You want to explore their weaknesses and this is another reason why I think they shouldn't even try and have Romo play. He has a big target on him, and his O-Line isn't exactly going to stop every blitz/pass rush, from getting to him. Just imagine if he gets out in the open. Takes off for a run, even more vulnerable. There's a line between toughness and stupidity, and Romo is tight roping it. They can do what they want with him. Go ahead and play him, and if he gets hurt more, that's on you.

Well, I mean this only makes the refs watch it closer. Hall will get penalized or even thrown out of a game much easier if he does go in for a nasty hit on Romo's ribs. You see this kind of thing all the time, especially during those Steelers-Ravens games, so it's not something that doesn't happen often. I'm not a fan of players publicly saying they're targeting an injury at all, but we all know they'd do it even if it wasn't said. This provides just a bit more protection from the refs for Romo.

Well if he goes charging head first into his ribs, it's kind of a dick move. But, they know he's hurt, they're not gonna just not hit him in that area because of it. This isn't pee wee.

Also, he should get protection from anything that constitutes as a penalty. If the refs get strict because of this, that's ridiculous. The o-line (and QB) have a responsibility to protect the QB too.

Yea no shit Deangelo..... He didnt have to say this to the media. Everybody and their mother knows the Redskins are aiming for Romos ribs. It would be dumb not to.

Hall has a big mouth, always has. Too bad he's not a very good CB anymore. Romo is showing his team a lot by going through this, I sure hope he makes it out of the game alright. Just a week prior the media was questioning Romo's leadership, this will show a lot. He's putting it all out on the line for his team and that is what I'd want to see out of my QB.

Wouldn't surprise me whatsoever, Hall is always getting torched. I don't think the Cowboys are going to have Miles Austin though, that will hurt. He's such a huge part of that offense.
