Friday's results
Red Sox 7 Yankees 4 (Hanley Ramirez hit #26 -- his 4th HR in as many games -- and is clearly getting heated up for the post-season)

Meanwhile, with but a dozen or so games left in the regular season, here's Mudge's assessment of the other races -- such as they are.
OVER AND OUT: NL CENTRAL. Seems like the Cubs clinched the division so long ago it's out of my memory.
MIGHT AS WELL BE OVER AND OUT -- JUST A MATTER OF TIME: AL CENTRAL, AL WEST, NL EAST. Start selling the playoff tickets in Cleveland, Texas and D.C.
THE FLAME IS FLICKERING OUT: NL WEST. The Giants have fallen even further behind (5 games now) in two weeks. Unless the Dodgers crash...
WILD CARD RACES: AL. The AL East may be well represented in this post-season as both Baltimore and Toronto are well positioned to share the proverbial bridesmaid's bouquet. Detroit, Seattle, Houston, and New York look like they'll come up empty. NL. As it stands, the Giants and Mets should be make it in. But, the Mets have lost another starting pitcher for the season (deGrom). Can they hold off the Cardinals, who are 2 games back?
