ESPN.com - Bears quarterback Jay Cutler isn't sure he'll be able to make it through the entire season if he continues to be hit at his current rate.

"I don't know," Cutler said. "I don't know."

Cutler absorbed six sacks, in addition to 16 hits against the Saints in Chicago's 30-13 loss on Sunday, resulting in extreme soreness in the quarterback's throat, "hips, we can go down the list," he said.

Cutler has been sacked 11 times through the first two games.

"I'm not worried about it," he said. "We're 1-1. There's still a lot of football to be played. If this continues, then obviously we're gonna have a problem. We're gonna have to address it. But I'm looking forward to this game. I know the guys are gonna bounce back, as will I."

Getting sacked is more than the o-lines fault.
I don't watch the Bears, but 11 sacks, dude should sense pressure better or something, not hold the ball as long.

Exactly what Rip said. He needs to learn to read the defense better and alert his linemen. Some hits are to blame on his linemen but others are his fault as well.

For the beating he takes every weekend?? Whether or not it's his own doing, I give him a lot of credit to keep getting up and keep going.
No, for what he did in the playoffs last year. Lost tons of respect for him.

It's not Cutlers fault he gets constant pressure in his face... If he actually had an offensive line that could block and a couple of weapons at WR, he would be putting up great numbers.

If you don't watch the Bears, then please don't speak. Most of the sacks are not on Cutler, dude seriously can't even drop back without getting sacks. Heck, you don't even have to watch the Bears, just check the highlights against the Saints. Maybe 1 or 2 was on Cutler, but the other 9-10 are on the line, tight ends, running backs.

Cutler = pussy
Really? Seriously, dude takes more of a beating than any QB in the league. Please tell me how he is a pussy?

No, for what he did in the playoffs last year. Lost tons of respect for him.
For not playing with a torn ligament in his knee? Please tell me how he was suppose to play? He tried playing in the 2nd half (injured it in the 1st) and he couldn't go. You seriously think he would just sit on the sidelines if he knew he could play?

I doubt it, if that was the case, I'm pretty sure he would have rather faked an injury against the Saints than kept going out there and getting his ass kicked. Especially since that was just a Week #2 game, compared to the freakin' NFC Championship game. Cutler Haters = idiots

Exactly. Put Cutler in New England or Green Bay and he would have fantastic numbers and probably wouldn't get any hate.

Please, if the guys fine to be on the sidelines, walking around, riding the bike, and jumping up and cheering when his team does good, he's okay enough to be out on the field giving his team everything he's got to try and win.

Romo played with a punctured lung.

And I'm not Cutler, i don't know what he felt, but If that's me I have to not be able to even walk to be taken out of an NFC Championship game.

And I explained to you why I called him a pussy.

Jumping up and cheering when his team does good? You obviously didn't watch the game or have a terrible memory... Don't you remember the media jumping all over him for showing no body language and just sitting there with his coat on? He didn't jump up and down at all. LOL

Good for Romo, good for any player that can play with an injury... Every player has a different pain tolerance... I'm not going to question Cutler, I'll just give props to Romo. If you really believe Cutler could have played and was willing to just sit out the biggest game of his life, you're sadly mistaken...

Players work their entire life to get to the point Cutler did, if he could have played, I really doubt he's going to sit out. Why even come back and play this year if he didn't want to try to get to the Super Bowl when he was so close last year? He should just retire if he doesn't care at all, which is what you are making it out to be.

You are going to get sacked playing under Martz.
Defenses are going to know the pass is coming more often than not, and gameplan for that.
Forte hasn't carried the ball all that much, which is idiotic because he is a good runner.

So I apologize for blaming Cutler, but I more-so blame poor play-calling.
You have a talented back, mix the run game in there more, and there will be less sacks. It's not rocket science.

Oh alright I thought I remembered him doing it on one occasion, my bad.

And maybe because he was playing like complete shit going 6/14 for 80 yards and a pick. He wasn't getting anything going against the Packers offense. If he was hot and playing well during the injury it wouldn't surprise me at all if we're not having this conversation at all whether or not Cutler could have played.

And yes I fully believe Cutler could have gone out on that field and played again. Maybe he didn't want to because he was scared of getting hit again, and playing behind the Bears O-Line that is going to happen a lot I don't know. But he definitely could have gone back out there and continued playing, I truly believe that.

Now that's 100% what I've been saying (check the Carimi thread).

Lovie promised a more balanced attack against the Packers, so we'll see what happens.

Martz needs to check his ego and realize Johnny Knox and Devin Hester are not good WR's.

We need Roy Williams and Earl Bennett back desperately (sad they are our top 2 guys).

If what you're saying is true, why did he bother playing against the Saints in the 4th quarter? Why didn't he just "fake" another injury and sit out the rest of the game? If you watched the game, you would've seen he was getting killed and pretty much had no shot. There was one series where he went down on two straight plays and Joe Buck just called it a complete joke, it was that bad.

I don't understand why he would "fake" an injury in the biggest game of his life, so he wouldn't have to take a beating, but would risk himself in a meaningless game during Week #2... Please explain.

I'm not saying he faked the injury, because he clearly didn't, there's proof of that. I just feel he could have still played with the injury if he's still walking up and down the sidelines and gave his team all he had in the biggest game of the year, but he decided not to and sit on the sidelines...which almost ended up being great for the Bears lol

He wasn't walking up and down the sidelines though... He was sitting curled up in his oversized jacket.

He walked there, and he walked back all under his own power.

If everyone did what Cutler did there wouldn't be a Kirk Gibson homerun, Terrell Owens in the 04 Superbowl, Romo's comeback, Ripkin streak and so on.

Basically... I'm calling Cutler a pussy for not going back out there. I'm not questioning if he was hurt or anything like that.
