Another former Yankee said he would consider a move back to New York if the Bombers came calling, as Cubs outfielder Alfonso Soriano said he would consider approving a trade to the Bronx.

“I don’t know if they want to call or not, but if they call for me, I’d have to think about it,” said Soriano, who has two years and $36 million remaining on his contract. “I don’t want to take a quick reaction and say yes or say no. I’m 37 years old, so I have to think about first what’s good for me, my team and my family.

“That’s the team that opened the door for me in the big leagues. That was a long time ago.”

Just saw this too. I could see him ending up back there. He can still produce at a real high level for probably another year or two. No indications yet of that guy slowing down.

I keep expecting him to drop off each year. I don't know how he does it.

Steroids... No but seriously, he did have a very productive year last year on a bad ballclub. Unfortunately the yankees are slashing payroll and unless they want to improve, they meed to go to 200+. Maybe if the cubs pay for a significant portion and the yankees send a few decent prospects, then it will work.
